I work in a computer hardware store, and it is not uncommon to have someone come into our store who needs a new set of Cabling. Sometimes the connector end of the cable will wear out, sometimes a pet will get a hold of the Ethernet cable. These are all very common things that will happen. Either way, we can hook anyone up with new cords and cables in order to get them back on their network. I normally recommend the stranded type of cable because it is more bendable, and it will definitely withstand a lot more stress before it wears out.
