Clinical programs are a must for any nursing institution, online or offline. That is one thing you should check. Even online institutions have various collaborations with local hospitals where clinical training is conducted. The hours may vary from one institute to another.

When you say online LPN, do you really mean completely online? How does one learn nursing through the Internet? Isn’t there a need for a lot of clinical studies? Please tell me what these online institutions do about that.

What subjects does she have to study? Is there any specialization? If yes, what specialization has she offered and what other specializations are possible? I am totally ignorant about online nursing education and anything you can tell me more could be of great help.

I am a licensed practical nurse already but I had studied through the traditional way, enrolling in a school for a fulltime course and so on. Now I am amazed at how simple these courses have become. There are so many online educated LPNs working in my hospital.

You just need about 6-8 hours per week, at any time, to go through online Licensed Practical Nursing programs. I am telling this out of my own experience. I did this last year, am working as a nurse now and am getting good money too.

The fact is that most online programs for LPN nursing are designed in such a way that anybody could understand them. They aren’t as difficult as the traditional courses in schools and colleges and the period for which you have to learn is also short. Almost everyone can do them.

I was thinking of taking up an LPN program over the Internet last year but then gave up the idea. I am from an Arts field and I thought that the syllabus of these courses would be too tough for me. However, two of my other Arts friends are already nurses through such programs.

Good to hear about your daughter. She’s on her way to becoming a nurse. Could you tell me how long the course actually took her, clinical sessions and all, because my daughter is also planning to enroll in some such course? Any information would be appreciated.
