Finding the Magic Tricks that Make a Great Show
Posted by Bong,
There have been so many times lately that I have wanted to have a nice magic show, but I just knew that I was not going to be able to do that unless I have the best magic tricks out there. I know that the perfect magic tricks are the ones that no one is able to figure out. The magic tricks for kids are fun because they can see them, and want to figure them out, but they know they really will have to learn before they will know all about how it works. I want kids to be able to have fun with a magic show.
I’m always amazed at the skill and the bravery of the magician’s assistants. Going inside a box and having swords pushed in beside you can’t be a pleasant experience. I know there’s some way the assistant can get out of the box and then get back in again, but it still makes me admire the way they do it.
I used to like watching Uri Geller bend his spoons. He was so convincing and his patter was wonderful I would sit captivated all the way through his performance. Someone told me he had specially prepared spoons to do his tricks with. If he did i could never spot them.
There was a TV program recently that went behind the scenes of how these big illusions are done. It was a secret magician who was apparently disclosing ‘Magician’s Secrets’. It was a really good show and gave some really good behind the scenes information on how illusions are done. I still can’t do any unfortunately.
Looking on the internet is a great place to see some great magic shows. The video sites like YouTube seem to have hundreds of magic show videos. Oftentimes you will find some that show you how the tricks are done. They tend to be answers for only the simple tricks though. I’ve not seen any showing how the big tricks are done.
Watching some of the great illusionist’s on TV can be a heart stopping experience. David Copperfield is a true giant in his craft. How does he make the Statue of Liberty disappear right in front of your eyes? How does he make live elephants disappear? It’s a trick… but how does he do it?
Some of the best magic tricks are the really simple ones that many people have seen but still don’t know how they’re done. Card tricks performed on a table just a few feet away are a special experience because you feel such a part of the show but at the same time often left mystified at how easily a good magician can deceive you.
We had a kid’s magician for our son’s birthday party and he was a roaring success. There was about 20 kids at the party and this guy kept them well entertained for over an hour. It’s the best 50 bucks I’ve ever spent! Highly recommended.
We hired a children’s entertainer for our son’s 9 birthday party and it was a great success. The kids loved the magic tricks and kept shouting with delight after each trick. What helped was the way the entertainer included the kids in the tricks. He would ask them to pick a card and put it back in the deck and then amaze them when he was able to find it ‘just by magic’.
